Overview 
With Helpwise, you can easily import a large number of contacts using a CSV file. This eliminates the need to add each contact individually manually. Also, you can upload additional customized information such as company name, role, and other details, in addition to basic contact information such as phone numbers and email addresses.

In this article, we will outline the format of your CSV file and the instructions to import your contact list in Helpwise.

How to format your CSV file

File formatting
The file must be a CSV file and may contain the fields listed below:Name: firstname and lastname are must-required fields for creating contacts in Helpwise Contact Center.

Email: Include the email address associated with the contact. You can add multiple email addresses to a contact by appending the heading: email1, email2, and so on.

Phone: Include the phone numbers as +<Country_Code><Phone_Number> (For example +1123456789). You can add multiple phone numbers to a contact by appending the heading: phone1, phone2, and so on.

Custom Field: You can add columns for any of the custom contact fields you’ve set up.

Contact Group: The name of the contact group the contact belongs to. You can add a contact to more than one contact list by listing them in group1, group2, and so on.

How to import contacts in Helpwise
Step 1: Log into your Helpwise account
Step 2: Navigate to Manage and click on Contacts
Step 3: Click on Import in the top menu of the contact center
Step 4: Drag and drop or select the CSV file you want to import
Step 5: Select the fields from your file with the correct Helpwise field type and click on Import
Note: Unselect Skip first row if your CSV file doesn't contain a header.
Step 6: Click on Done. The CSV file is queued for the contacts upload process, and contacts will appear within minutes.
